University Rifle Club – Est. 1916

We are an organization of shooting sportsmen engaged in Hi-Power Rifle, Smallbore Rifle and Pistol competition. Our facility is located in Berks County near Jacksonwald, PA. Our shooting ranges extend out to 600 yards and competitions are conducted under NRA rules. Bench rests are available for sight-in and testing. You may also visit our range on one of the match days listed on the match schedule.

This is a private club and you must join to use our range.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission has Public Shooting Ranges.

Competition Open to:
Any eligible competitor. No requirements for Membership to the NRA, the CMP, or University Rifle Club. All competitors will be required to sign an Eligibility Affidavit and Liability Agreement at the Club.

ENTRY FEE: $20.00

REGISTRATION: 1200 (Noon) until 12:45

Firing Starts: 1PM

Rules: Current Edition of CMP Rules

Course of Fire:
3 MINUTES PREPARATION TIME BEFORE EACH SEGMENT

15 minutes for 5 sighter shots and 10 record shots, single load only, prone position
80 seconds for 10 record shots, standing to prone position*, rapid fire
10 minutes for 10 record shots, standing position

For the Rapid Fire segment:
o M-1 Garand, On the Command “Load”, 2 rounds loaded with the bolt closed overriding the loaded round (bolt closed on empty chamber).
Shooters will start in the standing position, load on command, then proceed to prone position and fire when appear

o For Bolt Action Rifles, Upon the command “Load”, 5 rounds will be loaded with the bolt remaining open.

REQUIREMENTS:
Each shooter shall have 35 rounds of ammunition, two (2) 5 round stripper clips or two (2) M-1 Garand enbloc clips
Slings are not required, but strongly recommend for the prone position. Use of slings NOT ALLOWED for the Standing segment
Hearing and Eye protection required
The use of an Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) when rifles not on the firing line is required and between the 3 match segments
All rifles will be grounded or in cases until the command is given for that relay to move to the firing line
Each shooter WILL BE REQUIRED to score and pull pit duty

Availability of a spotting scope or binoculars recommended.

NOTES:

1. Some 30-06 GI Ball ammo will be available for purchase separately (price to be determined), but recommended that each shooter bring their own ammo
2. Each shooter should have an ECI; there will be a limited number available for loan or purchase ($3.00)
3. Upon completion of the final segment rifles shall remain on the firing line with an ECI inserted until a command is given to remove equipment from the firing line.
4. A brass call will only be issued by the Match Director once all equipment is removed from the firing line and prior to a pit change.

Club Members,

DO NOT DRIVE ON ANY GRASS AT THE CLUB.

The club will be closed at 2pm on Feb.24 in order to set up for the tactical shoot on Sunday.

THE CLUB IS CLOSED ON SUNDAY FEB. 25TH UNTIL THE STEEL RIFLE MATCH IS OVER AND CLEANED UP.

SO DO NOT COME TO SHOOT SUNDAY.
