Membership

Why join University Rifle Club?

Thank you for inquiring about membership in the University Rifle Club. The members here at URC are always looking to welcome new members to our club.

University Rifle Club has many unique attributes compared to other clubs in the area. Our main difference is that we are strictly a club dedicated to the shooting sports. We do not have any other focus. If you are interested in a club with social functions (i.e. bars or restaurants), then we are, unfortunately, not for you. We have ranges that will fulfill the needs of just about any shooter. The club has rifle ranges with distances of 100, 200 and 300 yards. There is a small-bore (.22) range with distances of 50 and 100 yards.  Pistol range can have your targets placed from 7yds to 50yds. You also may use a rifle or shotgun or black powder on the Pistol Range. There is also have enough space to practice your shotgun skills.

We are run by the membership

University Rifle Club is 100% run and managed by the membership. We hold monthly meetings to decide how the club should be managed and we encourage all members to attend as often as possible. Your attendance is needed to continue to make University Rifle Club the place that shooters love to go to enjoy their sport. We also rely on the skills of our members to maintain the grounds and enhance the clubs facilities.

If you feel that University Rifle Club is right for you, the next step is to come to the club on the scheduled orientation days. You can find the orientation days on the club calendar.

Work Credit incentive:

University Rifle Club has a “Work Day” monthly on the 3rd Saturday of the month. There are many ways to receive this credit.  Credits are earned by doing maintenance at the club, work details, mowing, trimming, cutting wood, helping with matches and orientation and general range maintenance. Things as simple as painting targets or picking up trash will go towards your work credit. Achieving 5 hours of work per year, October – November, will reduce your yearly membership by $50.
